We will be conducting three coaches meetings for head coaches and assistant coaches. (Click here to view the coach list)
Each meeting will focus on a particular age group. It's not a problem if you can't make the meeting on the night of the particular age group you are coaching. We will cover the basics at each meeting. If you are coaching multiple teams, in different divisions, we would prefer if you attend the meeting for the youngest team. Each meeting will be held at Wilderness Park:
U5/U6 - Tuesday, July 16th, 6:30pm
U8 & U10 - Wednesday, July 17th, 6:30pm
U12 & U16 - Thursday, July 18th, 6:30pm
If you have not yet completed a volunteer form, we will need you to do so at the meeting. Please bring a photo ID along with you. Alternately, you can complete the volunteer form online at http://www.eayso.org.
All coaches must complete AYSO Safe Haven training and age specific coach training. The training is done on-line and should be completed prior to the first game of the season. For more information, see the "Completing the Volunteer Process" section below.
Note: The training that was planned for the weekend of July 19-21st has been cancelled due to the downtown run-around, Cornhusker State Games, and other events scheduled which created a major conflict.
As our region continues to grow and we strive to create a quality soccer program for our children, we need to recruit new coaches and assistant coaches. Keeping in line with National AYSO and with recommendations from FIFA, the Board has decided to play short-sided games, therefore giving coaches better opportunities to teach the players the game of soccer. Likewise, less players on the field means more teams, which provides more coaching opportunities for more parents!
The Region will provide you with the training and supplies necessary to do your job! If you are interested in coaching, please indicate so during your child's registration or send an email to email@example.com.
Please note that all coaches must receive age appropriate certification prior to the start of the season.
Now that you've decided to volunteer, there are a few things you'll need to do:
