    Upcoming Coach Meetings

We will be conducting three coaches meetings for head coaches and assistant coaches. (Click here to view the coach list)

Each meeting will focus on a particular age group. It's not a problem if you can't make the meeting on the night of the particular age group you are coaching. We will cover the basics at each meeting. If you are coaching multiple teams, in different divisions, we would prefer if you attend the meeting for the youngest team. Each meeting will be held at Wilderness Park:

    (Updated 7/10)
        U8 & U10 - Sunday, July 20th, 6:30pm
        U5 & U6 - Tuesday, July 22nd, 6:30pm
        U12 & U16 - Thursday, July 24th, 6:30pm

If you have not yet completed a volunteer form, we will need you to do so at the meeting. Please bring a photo ID along with you. Alternately, you can complete the volunteer form online at http://www.eayso.org.

All coaches must complete AYSO Safe Haven training and age specific coach training. The training is done on-line and should be completed prior to the first game of the season. For more information, see the "Completing the Volunteer Process" section below.

    Volunteers Needed!

As our region continues to grow and we strive to create a quality soccer program for our children, we need to recruit new coaches and assistant coaches. Keeping in line with National AYSO and with recommendations from FIFA, the Board has decided to play short-sided games, therefore giving coaches better opportunities to teach the players the game of soccer. Likewise, less players on the field means more teams, which provides more coaching opportunities for more parents!

The Region will provide you with the training and supplies necessary to do your job! If you are interested in coaching, please indicate so during your child's registration or send an email to ayso248@gmail.com.

Please note that all coaches must receive age appropriate certification prior to the start of the season.

    Completing the Volunteer Process

Now that you've decided to volunteer, there are a few things you'll need to do:
    • Online Registration - Register at http://www.eayso.org. This will permit AYSO to run a background check on you and gives you the opportunity to print out a completed application.
    • Deliver Paperwork - Print out 2 copies of the completed application and sign each copy. Bring these 2 copies and your driver's license to one of our registration events.
    • Online Training - Once your paperwork is processed, the AYSO ID # (found on your completed application) will be activated. This will allow you to access the online training at http://www.aysotraining.org. Take the mandatory "Safe Haven Certification" course.

    Coach Tools

AYSO's National Coaching staff has completely re-written and restructured the coaching manuals for ages U-6 through U-12. The brand new manuals will be debuting in April (the new intermediate and advanced manuals will be unveiled in 2015).
Unlike the current manuals that are text-heavy and at times, tough to put into action, the new manuals have been written for the parent coach and has practical knowledge and useful exercises to use on the field. Here is a sneak peek at the look of the new manuals...
